THIEU THIJSSEN – THORN
Due to his advanced age and declining health, Thieu Thijssen is unfortunately no longer able to continue keeping racing pigeons.
Some time ago, the difficult decision was therefore made to offer all the pigeons remaining in his lofts for sale.
This auction has been made possible thanks to the valuable assistance of Harry Tubee, Sander Dijkstra and Jan Straetemans. Harry helped prepare the pedigrees, Sander compiled the racing performances, and Jan assisted with the pigeons themselves.
The people closest to Thieu have done everything possible to help him continue enjoying his lifelong passion. However, at almost 90 years of age, declining health and physical limitations have made it impossible for him to carry on.
In March 2027, Thieu hopes to celebrate his 90th birthday, a remarkable milestone in a life largely devoted to the wonderful sport of pigeon racing.
And Thieu certainly has every reason to be proud of his achievements and his long career in the sport.
Throughout his many years in pigeon racing, Thieu has always been willing to help fellow fanciers. For decades, he also served the sport with tremendous dedication and passion, holding various administrative and committee positions.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Thieu was honoured several years ago with a Royal Decoration from the Netherlands.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS AUCTION
An overview of the racing results and prizes won by the pigeons offered in this auction is included.
Please note: Thieu raced exclusively with cocks!
The hens are certainly no less valuable or promising than the cocks, but they were never given the opportunity to prove their abilities in Extreme Long Distance (Marathon) racing.
We warmly invite you to take your time to carefully study the pigeons and their pedigrees.
This is a family of racing pigeons that has been carefully selected and developed by Thieu Thijssen over many years.
Small in numbers, but exceptional in quality!
These valuable bloodlines offer an excellent opportunity for every serious marathon fancier looking to strengthen their breeding loft with proven Extreme Long Distance genetics.
Take advantage of this special opportunity and try to secure a pigeon from the carefully established family of Thieu Thijssen!
WITH SINCERE THANKS ON BEHALF OF:
